South Skye Nature Festival 2026

Date: 24th – 26th July 2026
Sleat Nature Group is proud to bring to you the inaugural South Skye Nature Festival with more than 40 activities lined up over a weekend, all in the name to celebrate the wonderful natural world we call home on the Isle of Skye.
Fancy a guided walk looking for otters, or one to look at our incredible ferns? How about a wander through Scottish rainforest while learning how nature finds its way into Gaelic names? Or how about a geology walk, a rockpool bio-blitz, a bumblebee safari, or even a butterfly wander?
Drop in to listen to our expert speakers celebrating the amazing birds of Skye, or the sounds of Skye’s nature. How about learning about species re-introductions in the Highlands, or the role of biodiversity, or wonders of the secretive corncrake! Oh and yes, we’ll have an evening film screening with Q&A too.

All this revolving around a festival hub at the wonderful An Crùbh community centre and cafe, with displays and booths throughout the weekend from: Highlands & Islands Climate Hub, Scottish Entanglement Alliance, Skye Beach Cleans, British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR), Fishing For Litter, Amphibian & Reptile Conservation (ARC), Bumblebee Conservation Trust, Scottish Marine Animal Stranding Scheme (SMASS), Trees For Life, Skye & Lochalsh Rivers Trust, British Trust for Ornithology, Blue Marine Foundation … and more.
