Screening of Handel: Giulio Cesare (Julius Caesar)

Join us as we screen Handel’s Giulio Cesare (Julius Caesar) on Friday, 10th April. This is a fundraising effort to support our live screening/broadcast project.

Scottish Director David McVicar’s acclaimed production of Giulio Cesare at Glyndebourne combines serious insight with entertainment, bringing Handel’s masterpiece to life in a powerful, convincing and highly intelligent way. The outstanding singing of the all-star cast, led by a superb Sarah Connolly, and the vivid playing of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment under the energising direction of William Christie reveal the colour and dramatic character of Handel’s exquisite music. Subtitles in English.

As our first test screening event using the recently installed projector in An Crùbh, this opera evening will be by donation on entry. Funds raised will support our live screening/broadcast project.
