A workshop to help you repair, alter or repurpose an item of clothing that has been languishing at the back of your wardrobe because you can’t wear it but can’t bear to throw it out.
This workshop will be led by Jackie Parsons, an experienced local dress designer and maker, who will help you repair or adapt your item as fit to wear, along with support and fun from other participants. As well as taking away your upcycled garment, you will also take away some skills and confidence to tackle projects on your own, thus reducing waste and contributing to slow fashion.
As well as your garment, it would be helpful if you can bring along any materials or equipment you may need e.g. a sewing machine, needles, zip, button, elastic, spare fabric etc. But if you don’t have these then don’t worry as there will be equipment there.
The workshop will run from 10am until 4pm with a break for lunch at 12.30 (please bring your own or purchase it from the café).
FREE TO ATTEND, BUT SPACES ARE LIMITED. To secure your spot, please RSVP below.
If you have got a ticket but can no longer attend the event, please email office@camuscrossboard.onmicrosoft.com so that somebody else can take your place.
This workshop runs as part of the Highlands and Islands Climate Festival and is possible thanks to funding from the Highlands and Islands Climate Hub.
